Ubuntu Wellness Universe

where we bring people together for Unity in Diversity

Every now and than when we are confronted with big tragedies, we should feel obliged to take a moment to pause and reshuffle life, rearrange our thoughts and behavior to find out what is really important in Life.
It’s like the world is on fire or exploding into little pieces to reveal it’s core or the true heart of humanity. What have we become and where are we going, which path are we to follow, what makes us tick and how will we proceed here on Earth? Who or what must we turn to end suffering in the world?

Heavy questions which ironically can only be answered by the person asking them. In order to do this we have to go within. Tragedies are good triggers to do just this. The Hato Airport liquidation shooting on my beloved island, the MH17 Malaysian flight shutdown, the Israel-Gaza border war. This week of sorrow and horror made me stop in my tracks and come to the realization that everything has its time and rushing should not be part of our daily routine.
So, yes I only have a little over a week to move out, to look at all my options and make a decision about the future of the Ubuntu Wellness Center, it’s operation and location. I am very aware of this, but at the same time I ask myself how futile and unimportant this fact is compared to the many lives touched by tragedy and how the ones left behind have to deal with their future without their loved ones.

I decided to be of better service to mankind in this moment and whispered the mother of all mantras. The Gayatri Mantra: the mantra to share compassion, peace and love into every heart at any given situation.

Aum Bhur Bhuvah Swah, Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi, Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat

A basic translation can be given as:
Oh God, the Protector, the basis of all life, Who is self-existent, Who is free from all pains and Whose contact frees the soul from all troubles, Who pervades the Universe and sustains all, the Creator and Energizer of the whole Universe, the Giver of happiness, Who is worthy of acceptance, the most excellent, Who is Pure and the Purifier of all, let us embrace that very God, so that He may direct our mental faculties in the right direction.

Listen to a modern version:

Listen to a classical version:

Through the skies our whispers and prayers will go, touching all the hearts in need of consolation, love and peace.
Let us always stick to what is important in life. Maintain and increase all our positive and self-energizing activities. And even when tragedy strikes, even than continue with your self help practice, just as we did past Tuesday.
